Lesson
Structure

Kay’s lessons are designed to be both structured and inspiring, blending technique with creative exploration. Each session includes tailored exercises focused on building finger agility, precision, and rhythm. Students then work on pieces suited to their level and goals, with guidance on interpretation, musicality, and technique.

Kay also incorporates improvisation and music theory, encouraging students to explore different styles and express themselves more fully. Each lesson wraps up with a review of progress and clear goals for independent practice, leaving students motivated and ready for the next step in their musical journey.

Musical
Style

Kay blends proven methods with personalized selections, creating a balance between structured learning and music students genuinely enjoy. For younger beginners, she often uses trusted resources like Alfred and Faber Piano Adventures to build strong skills in music reading, technique, and theory. Alongside these fundamentals, Kay loves helping students discover pieces they’re excited about—from classical pieces to popular songs and modern favorites. This mix of foundational learning and creative exploration helps students develop solid, timeless skills while keeping their enthusiasm for music alive and growing.
